Emergency Preparedness Week
Are you prepared for an emergency? Is your community prepared?
Sign Up Join the Lunenburg County Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO) for Emergency Preparedness Week (EPW) from May 7 to 13, 2023, and help our communities become better prepared to face an emergency while promoting your services and products at the same time!
The aim of our EPW campaign is to engage residents in a variety of ways to encourage their personal emergency preparedness, culminating in an in-person event on May 13th, at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre in Bridgewater.
Businesses wishing to participate will be given a promotional kit that could include posters, brochures, and social media resources at no cost. We are encouraging businesses to set up an in-store display to promote and showcase preparedness items you already sell. We have listed some display ideas at the bottom of this page to help you decide how you can participate.
What’s in it for you:
- Promotion through REMOs print, social media, and radio ads. We will advertise leading up to and throughout the week.
- A free print and digital promotional kit to use during Emergency Preparedness Week.
- Participating businesses are welcome to occupy a booth at our final EPW event on Saturday, May 13, free-of-charge. Our ‘Touch-A-Truck/Fair’ event is open to all at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre, 135 North Park Street in Bridgewater, and will have representatives from emergency response agencies and partners. This will be a popular event.
- Your logo will be included on our website and linked to social media posts, acknowledging your participation.
- A chance for one of your customers to win a generator! We are giving away a generator and can provide you with a ballot box.
- You will be a part of a community-wide effort to enhance emergency preparedness in Lunenburg County, the first effort of its kind in Nova Scotia.
You determine the level of participation, whether it is a display when customers walk in, discounted store items, a post or two on social media, or a brochure at the cash register. We can also provide promotional support and ideas to service-based businesses with no walk-in traffic.
Sign up and we will follow up shortly to confirm your participation and next steps.
Every time someone increases their emergency preparedness awareness, it helps the community.
